Happy Thanksgiving!...

It's finally Thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday (behind Christmas)! I hope that your day is full of family, love, and, of course, thanks!

Deep in the Heart of Texas...

Well, here I am. It's been a long week my friends. A very long week. Halloween has come and gone and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Before we all know it it'll be Christmas and I'll be the happiest little Texan ever!

Best story ever...I had twins! Twin parking tickets that is. Well, not really twins because they came on Monday and Tuesday, but you get the idea. Apparently I parked in a handicap spot. I couldn't tell it was a handicap spot though because it didn't have a handicap sign. Thankfully, after they gave me a THIRD ticket, they called me to give me the opportunity to move my car before it got towed. Even more thankfully, because I immediately moved my car, they voided the third ticket so I'll be out $160.00 instead of $240.00. Actually, I'm only out $80 because my mom is awesome and paid for the other. I thinks it's because she felt bad for me because I was sick that day and was crying because it just compounded more suck on an already sucky day.

In other news, there is an awesome headache-y, nauseating cold-y thing going around and guess who got it. Remember that story about being me being sick? Yeah, apparently that's what I had. The room mate of a friend of mine had it too. Awesome thing to be going around. At least it's not the swine flu/avian flu combo of last year. For all of you just turning in...'regular' flu, is avian so when CNN gets all crazy about 'bird flu', they're just talking about the flu.

Being that tomorrow is the official first day of fall, here is something to look forward to in 64 days.

Bohemian Rhapsody...

So, here's the kicker. In higher education there is a set list of classes that one must take. Those are called "core classes". They're easy as pie and you can usually get them on the cheap at a community college. Beyond those classes, there are "college required" classes. Those are the classes that a particular college at a university requires it's students to take. Now, I don't mean college as in the synonym university, I mean college as in Blah Blah University College of Fnafnanfa. For example, I am a student in the Stephen F Austin State University College of Liberal and Applied Arts for both my major (sociology with an emphasis on anthropology - yeah, try explaining how that works) and my minor (psychology).

I have taken all but four, yes four of the classes that I need to. And here is where my problem lies. I have to take a sociology class simply called "theory". What's the problem? That class in only offered in the Fall. Guess what, it's Fall and I'm not taking that class and I'm supposed to graduate in May. DUN, DUN, DuuuuuN (scary music). Poop. What, um, am I supposed to do? According to my advisor, I can substitute a different upper level class! Provided that it is approved by the chair of the department of social and cultural analysis, the dean of the college and the dean of the university. Thankfully, my advisor says it shouldn't be a problem. I should be able to find a class that will be approved because there are plenty of 400 level classes. If I have to, I can do Independent Study.
